MRS List Rental Order Procedures
E-mail Lists | Mailing Lists | Terms | Order Submission
Materials Research Society mailing lists are available for rent for one-time use with each order. MRS reserves the right to deny requests which are intended for mailings in conflict with its programs, principles or other interests.
Transmission Specifications
- Select categories and geographical area
- Submit e-mail message in html format (no attachments) to smiley@mrs.org
- Provide e-mail "subject" and "from" information
- All transmissions must be completed through MRS
- Test e-mail sent to requester prior to message being released
- Provide due date and shipping and billing address
E-Mail List Fees
- E-mail List Rental: $220 per thousand*
- Transmission Fee: $275 per order
- Pricing is based on delivered net-error-free e-mail. You will not be charged for messages that do not reach your customers.
* Agency (broker) commission of 15% is applicable
Order Preparation
Select Categories
- Use the corresponding alphabetic and numeric code to place your order (for example, "B1.22" for Superconductors or "B6.22a" for Metal Matrix Composites, etc.).
Select Geographical Area
- U.S. names comprise about 50% of the list.
- Lists will be sorted by zip code within the U.S., and in alphabetical order by country for non-U.S.
Choose Format
- Electronic: Clean and speedy transmission of data in ASCII format across the Internet via e-mail. Electronic file will only be transferred directly to a bonded mailing service.
- Pressure sensitive labels: Peel off wax-paper backing; stick on. Can be either hand or machine affixed. Best label format for small mail runs or for in-house mailings.
Order Requirements
- Provide a sample of the literature to be mailed. If not yet printed, provide a final draft of copy.
- Indicate key code, optional (up to nine digits)
- Provide due date and shipping and billing address
- Lists are sold for one time use. Include the following signed statement with your order: "Rental of this mailing list to be used on a one-time basis only to mail the indicated literature and will not be duplicated, entered into any database or used for telemarketing."
Fees (Mailing Lists)
- Electronic (data transfer via e-mail): $220 per thousand*
- Pressure sensitive labels: $240 per thousand*
- Set-up fee: $75 per order
- Special customization (optional): $50 per order
- Random select (optional): $50 per order
- Shipping: additional
- List reuse: original order cost less 10%
*Agency (broker) commission of 15% is applicable
- Orders processed within 15 working days of receipt
- Invoice (net 30 days)
- 18% per annum finance charge (1.5% per month) assessed on all accounts over thirty (30) days
- PA residents add 7% sales tax
