MRS Bulletin Advertising Policy & Rates
Publication Specifications

MRS Bulletin publishes display and classified advertising of interest to MRS Members and other individual and institutional subscribers. All advertising is subject to approval. The publisher reserves the right to reject any advertising which is not in keeping with the publication's standards. Advertisers and agencies assume liability for all content (including text, representation and illustrations) of advertisements printed, and also assume responsibility for any claim arising therefrom made against the publisher. Publishers cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond their control.

All advertisements are accepted and published by the publisher upon the representation that the agency and advertisers are authorized to publish the entire contents and subject matter thereof. In consideration of the publisher's acceptance of such advertisements for publication, the agency and advertisers will indemnify and hold the publisher harmless from and against any loss or expense arising out of publication of such advertisements, including, without limitation, those resulting from claims or suits for libel, violation of rights of privacy, plagiarism, and copyright infringement.

MRS Bulletin Display Advertising

The following advertising rates are based on total insertions used in one calendar year. Rates are rounded to the nearest whole dollar and subject to change on 60-days written notice. Advertising contracts will be billed at prevailing rate on date the contract is received and will be honored at that rate for the duration of the contract.

• Agency commission of 15% of gross billing is allowed on standard display advertisements
• Display ads will be keyed for reader service information requests at no additional charge. Only one free key per ad; additional extra.
• Composition on display ads is additional
• Match prints are required with color ads
• Contact MRS for special production requirements
• A finance charge of 18% per annum (1.5% per month) will be assessed on all accounts over thirty (30) days
• No cancellations will be accepted after closing date

MRS Bulletin Classified Advertising

Classified advertising includes employment and used and surplus equipment advertising only. All classified advertisements in MRS Bulletin benefit from the following value-added services as part of the advertising rate:

• Classified ads are posted electronically on the MRS Web site and are available for viewing approximately 4 weeks before the print issue arrives in the mail. In addition, ads are linked to the organization's own Web site if an Internet address is provided. So advertisers gain added exposure to an unlimited number of highly qualified individuals, guaranteeing a match for the skills and experience required.
• Classified ads appearing in preview and show issues of MRS Bulletin are posted at the Career Centers hosted at MRS Spring and Fall Meetings. Career Center services include access to current job postings, resume file for prospective employers, and on-site interview opportunities.

2005 Classified Advertising Rates (black & white)

• Agency commission of 15% of gross billing is allowed on classified ads 1/6 page or larger
• Classified ad rates include composition. Submission of classified ads via e-mail to watterson@mrs.org is preferred but ads can also be faxed to 724-779-4397.
• A finance charge of 18% per annum (1.5% per month) will be assessed on all accounts over thirty (30) days

Classified Advertising Deadlines

• Closing date for orders and materials is 1st and 5th working day, respectively, preceding month of issue
• No cancellations will be accepted after closing date
