Students comprise approximately
20 percent of the MRS membership worldwide. They represent the
future of the Society, and MRS strives to serve them well.
Students: Please let us know how MRS can serve
you better and help you in your career objectives. Send any comments
and suggestions to info@mrs.org

an application. Recent graduates, not yet employed, may also
qualify for this special membership rate. Student Registration fees
Again, if you are currently fulltime, you can register for the
MRS Spring and Fall Meetings at a substantial

form. Send your request to info@mrs.org. University Chapters
MRS University Chapters have special
benefits that help you expand the value of your MRS membership.
Travel reimbursement for attending MRS meetings, networking at
the local level, and access to the MRS video library are among
the opportunities when you join or start a chapter. Graduate Student Awards
At each MRS Spring and Fall Meeting, finalists for the Graduate
Student Awards present their research within appropriate
MRS symposia. You can apply at the time you send in your meeting
abstract (there is a place on the template form for this). Finalists
receive a waiver of their registration fee at the MRS meeting,
plus membership in MRS.

Help pay your way to the MRS Meeting! By working a minimum of
four half-day sessions as a symposium aide, you will earn a waiver
of the student registration fee, student membership with MRS,
and a small stipend to help cover your expenses. Symposium preferences
are assigned on a first come, first serve basis. For more information,
please contact Jane Stokes at 724 779-3004 x302 or via email
at stokes@mrs.org. Student Mixers
MRS Meetings are important for building your professional network.
MRS sponsors a Student Mixer at each MRS Meeting, usually Monday
or Tuesday evening. It is a great time to unwind a little with
other students and faculty from around the world. We also invite
employers to this event. Career Services
MRS offers a Job Placement
service at each Spring and Fall Meeting.
There is NO CHARGE to you if your membership is current. For
information about the next event, ask us for information.
Current MRS Members also are entitled to place a "Position
Wanted" advertisement in the MRS Bulletin -- at no charge.
The ad, which will appear in the classified section, can be up
to 50 words. Click here for more information.
