Symposium P: Microporous and Macroporous Materials

The scope of this symposium will be synthesis, structural studies, characterization and applications of microporous and mesoporous materials. Novel approaches to the syntheses of such materials will be emphasized, such as recent efforts to prepare films and coatings of such materials, sol-gel, chemical vapor deposition, hydrothermal alteration, precipitation, and other methods. Characterization studies will focus on several different topics, including in situ measurements, characterization during synthesis, new characterization methods, methods of analysis, comparisons of methods, and other areas. The applications of microporous and mesoporous materials include the areas of adsorption, batteries, catalysis, ceramic precursors, nonlinear optical materials, electronic conductivity, sensors, and similar areas.

Original papers are requested dealing with, or relating to, the following topics:

* Synthesis and rational design of new materials
* Characterization of pore sizes and framework structures
* Adsorptive and catalytic properties
* Novel material properties: optical, electronic, ceramic
