Symposium C: Compound Semiconductor Electronics and Photonics III-V Semiconductors continue to find new applications in optical data transmission, full color displays, automotive electronics and personal communication systems. Complex epitaxial growth, processing, device design, and circuit architecture are all necessary for realization of these elements. This symposium will bring together the diverse group required to develop next-generation devices. Specific topics of interest include, but are not limited to: * VCSEL technology for optical interconnects and 2D image recognition * Novel microresonators for photonic ICs * LEDs in A1GaAs, A1GaP, InGaN and related materials systems * SEED arrays for optical switching * Narrow gap antimonides and other materials for IR emitters and detectors * Low-power GaAs and InP electronics for wireless communications * High-power microwave electronics for collision avoidance and radar systems * JFETs, MESFETs, HEMTs, HBTs for digital logic applications * III-N and III-V materials and processes for high-temperature electronics Joint sessions are planned with Symposium B: Defects and Interfaces in Lattice-Mismatched Semiconductor Heterostructures, and Symposium E: III-Nitride, SiC, and Diamond Materials for Electronic Devices.
