This tutorial will focus on the chemical synthesis and structural characterization of both semiconductor and metal nanostructures. It will also briefly cover their properties, as well as their use as building blocks to fabricate functional devices and systems via self-assembly.
The tutorial will be organized into the following four lectures: 1) Vapor-Phase Synthesis of Nanostructues (Z.L. Wang)
2) Solution-Phase Synthesis of Nanostructures (Y. Xia)
3) Structural Characterization andP of Nanostructures (Z.L. Wang)
4) Self-Assembly with Nanostructures as the Building Blocks
