| Thank you for a successful 2003 Spring Meeting of the Materials Research
Society. Our meeting chairs--Terry Garino, Hans-Joachim L. Gossmann,
Lisa Klein, and Albert Polman -- worked with their symposium organizers
to assemble an outstanding array of technical symposia and special
events that presented a stimulating choice of speakers
and topics. In addition to the symposium technical presentations,
I want to call your attention to some of the other offerings at this
meeting, including the plenary session and award ceremony, symposium
tutorial program, equipment exhibit, special sessions discussing trends
in research funding, and the always interesting presentations associated
with Symposium X. I hope that you had the opportunity to benefit
from all of these activities, and found time to meet with many of your
colleagues. My special thanks go to all those who have worked to make
this such an exciting meeting, including the meeting chairs, symposium
organizers, and MRS staff. I hope that everyone attending had an enjoyable
and productive week.
