guides to National Science Foundation (NSF) support for materials
research and education, focusing primarily on the activities
of the Division of Materials Research. Following an overview
by NSF staff, there will be a question-and answer period about
NSF programs, proposal submission, and proposal
evaluation, and the opportunity to discuss your ideas informally
with program directors from NSF's Division of Materials Research.

Office at the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA),
will provide an overview of DARPA's materials science program.
This presentation will highlight ongoing research, but the emphasis
will be on new/emerging areas of research that are challenging
the material science community. This discussion will be put in
the context of DARPA's unique mission within the Defense community.
It will also include some suggested approaches for succeeding
as a DARPA contractor. Questions and answers will follow.
