Introduction to Instrumented Indentation Testing (IIT)
MTS Systems Corporation
Oak Ridge, TN

IIT, or Instrumented Indentation Testing, is referred to by several names: nanoindentation, continuous recording indentation, depth-sensing indentation, low or ultra-low load indentation, and picoindentation. Through this seminar, participants will learn the fundamental models and techniques used in measuring mechanical properties at the nanoscale. The seminar will also address advantages gained through continuous measurement of the elastic stiffness of the contact between the indenter tip and the sample.
